How To Become a Surrogate with Simple Surrogacy

Becoming a Surrogate is one of the most selfless things that a woman can do. Not only are you committing to a lengthy process, but you are also committing to bringing a life into this world for a deserving individual or couple who can not do so on their own. We often receive messages from individuals who are interested in becoming a Surrogate but aren’t sure where to start. Keep reading to learn how you can join other incredible women by becoming a Surrogate with Simple Surrogacy.

Surrogate Application

Fill out our initial Surrogate application. This application will ask you to answer several questions to see if you are a good fit to become a Surrogate with Simple Surrogacy. Some of the requirements include:

  • Be a citizen or legal resident or legal immigrant of the United States
  • Be between the ages of 21-42
  • Have given birth to a child of your own
  • Have had uncomplicated pregnancies and deliveries
  • Be height-weight proportionate (BMI must be under 33)
  • Have experienced a full-term pregnancy and delivery
  • Enjoy pregnancy and be motivated by the wish to help others create or add to their family

Once the team receives your completed application, one of our experienced coordinators will reach out to you to answer any questions that you have about the surrogacy process.

Medical Review

Once your questions are answered we will send a request for access to your complete medical records from previous pregnancies and deliveries. When we receive your medical records, we will review them to determine your eligibility for our program.

Surrogate Interview

The next step is to attend a Surrogate interview with one of our coordinators. The coordinator will discuss your surrogacy journey, review the Surrogate benefits we offer, and make sure that you understand the commitment to become a Surrogate with Simple Surrogacy. Once you understand the commitment and are ready to proceed, we will begin your background check and schedule your psychological interview.

Background Check and Psychological Review

During the next step, our team will run a background check to ensure you meet our list of criteria. We will also schedule a psychological review. During this review, you will meet with a psychologist who will ask you about your family history, your current environment as well as determine the state of your mental health. Surrogacy is a big decision, so we always take our time in ensuring our Surrogates are happy and healthy enough to safely begin their Surrogate journey.

Insurance Review

We will also review your insurance to make sure that it is free of exclusions for surrogacy. If we notice any exclusions, our team will assist you in obtaining additional insurance to ensure you are covered for your surrogacy process.

Selecting an Intended Parent Profile

Now that all of the above steps have been completed, and you have been selected to be a Surrogate with Simple Surrogacy, the next step is to build out a set of criteria for the type of Intended Parent(s) you are looking for. This will include their beliefs, location, and several other factors. Once this list is built out, you will be able to begin seeing Intended Parent profiles. Have a question about an Intended Parent profile? Not a problem! Your assigned coordinator, who is also a previous Surrogate, will be available 24/7 to answer any of your questions. Once you select an Intended Parent profile, we will schedule a mediated phone call so that you can get to know the Intended Parent(s) and determine if this is a good match. If the phone call goes well, we will arrange an in-person meeting.

Medical Screening

Once you have selected which Intended Parents you are going to work with, you will be asked to attend a medical screening at the clinic chosen by the Intended Parent(s). The team at Simple Surrogacy will arrange your travel and make sure that you and your companion do not have any out of pocket expenses on the trip, and that your insurance is not billed.

Selecting an Attorney

After the medical screening, the next step is to select an attorney from a reference list who will represent you in your state. Our team and the attorney will work with you to ensure that all of your requests for the contract are respected and included in the agreement. Once the contract is completed and signed, you will begin receiving your monthly compensation allowance. You will also receive a transfer calendar from your clinic. Your assigned coordinator will remind you of all clinic appointments and our finance department will ensure you do not incur any out of pocket costs by advancing all funds needed.

Escrow

You will also have a personal escrow advocate at your disposal, who will oversee and monitor all of your escrow payments to ensure you receive all of your compensation. To learn more about our Surrogacy compensation rates, visit our website.
