Simple Surrogacy Spotlight on Jill Errera -Intended Parent Coordinator

Picture1I started my journey as a surrogate in 2007, about a year after the birth of my daughter.  I answered a classified ad on a surrogacy website, not knowing the Intended Parents were represented by Simple Surrogacy.  Almost 13 years, one egg donation, 4 surrogacies and 7 babies later, I am employed by the women and agency that started it all!

My daughter was almost one and I knew that I didn’t want more children of my own, but I loved being pregnant.  A common statement among most surrogates.  My first surrogacy started off bumpy, taking over a year to get pregnant.  Something that we don’t see very often these days, as the technology has definitely improved.  Never in a million years did I think when I finally got pregnant, it would be with twin girls!  After an uneventful full term delivery, I was hooked.  The overwhelming feeling of seeing the parents with their baby for the first time was indescribable.  I had to do it again!  I went on to have a singleton girl for a local couple, boy/girl twins for an Intended Father in Israel and boy/girl twins for an Intended Father in Chicago.  That’s 3 sets of twins and 1 singleton, for those who lost count.

I am so proud of the families I helped to create.  Aside from my own daughter, some of my best work!  Seeing them grow into the little people they are becoming, and having the lasting friendships that I created with their parents makes my heart full.  People ask me all the time how could I carry a baby for 9 months and not want to keep it.  My answer, the babies were never mine to keep.  They belong to their parents.  They just needed a little help to get them here.  The end goal is creating another family, not adding to my own.  It’s definitely not for everyone, in fact, it’s only right for a very small number of us.  The small number of us, making a huge difference on those who need us.  Just ask some Intended Parents!
