How To Become A Surrogate Mother: Requirements And Compensation

Surrogate Mother

It’s very noble to help someone grow their family. At Simple Surrogacy, we understand the sacrifice of carrying a baby that is not yours. That’s why we take pride in caring for our surrogate mothers by offering them amazing benefits and all the assistance they need. If you’re interested in becoming a surrogate, these are some steps you can take.

Requirements For Surrogate Mothers

We choose the surrogate mothers that will work with Simple Surrogacy very carefully. Some of our requirements include:

  • Women between 21 and 40 years old
  • Legal residents in the United States
  • Women who have given birth to a child
  • A stable living situation

Upon filling out our Surrogate Application, an experienced surrogacy coordinator will contact you to request your medical records, answer your questions about the process, and determine if you need to provide additional documents. The next steps include a background check and a psychological interview to ensure that you are prepared to carry a baby.

Matching Surrogates With Intended Parents

As a surrogate mother, you can express your preference for single people, straight couples, or LGBT couples. Intended parents can choose a surrogate mother based on personality, location, the rate charged, and other aspects. Finding a match can take anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks.

The level of interaction between intended parents and surrogates can vary. Some people opt for little interaction, with just a few visits and phone calls during the pregnancy or occasional updates after birth. However, it is more common for intended parents and surrogate mothers to seek a lifelong friendship. Our surrogacy coordinator will work to manage expectations on both sides.

Compensation And Assistance

Carrying a baby is a big commitment, so you have the right to request compensation. If you’re unsure about the amount, our agency will designate a professional to help you. Simple Surrogacy will cover expenses related to the pregnancy, like medical exams, clothes, and medicines. Payments are made in accordance with each contract and reimbursements occur monthly.

We appreciate your generosity and interest in being a surrogate. Our co-owner and co-founder, Stephanie Scott, is a three-time previous surrogate and has a lot of wisdom to share. If you have any questions, contact us through our website or give us a call at 1-866-41-SURRO.
